Alupanorama - 10th Anniversary Bash

On 12th day of October 2007, Alupanorama Group held their 10th Anniversary Bash. Group founders and directors Mr Kelvin Sie, Ms Ng Yen Ling and Ms Too Siew Kean were on hands to welcome customers, suppliers, members of respective families and close friends, at the ballroom of the Oriental Restaurant at Jaya33. Also seen at the function were the partners of their subsidiaries, namely Mr TY Chia, Ms Eunice Chia, Mr Daniel Teoh and Mr and Mrs Hoh. Their exquisite Chinese fine dining cuisine, free flow of premium liquors and great wines, plus the merry crowds made the occasion more joyous. The celebrating bash was held in conjunction with the birthday celebration of their senior partner, Mr Kelvin Sie, whose vision and leadership has led to the rapid growth of the group within such short period. The group has grown within leaps and bounds, having established subsidiaries in all parts of Malaysia as well as Thailand and they are presently eyeing the Philippines market. May we all wish Alupanorama Group, "Ten Great Years and more great 10s".

The highlight event for the night was the cake cutting ceremony by all the partners, led by Mr Kelvin Sie, and after much cheers and many toasts, birthday song was sung to wish the "Man of the Night". Whilst Mr Kevin Sie did not present any speech, his provoking thoughts, vision and words of thanks was well written and presented in an appreciation note which was handed out for all to share. A copy of the document will be posted later for all to enjoy.

Their hard work and close relationship can be best summarised by the following emotional speech, delivered by an equally emotional Ms Ng Yen Ling:

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, fellow partners, colleagues and friends,

It has been a great 10 years. I am not a good speaker, so kindly bear with me for the next few minutes to allow me the opportunity to "bore" you, as I wish to speak from my heart to offer my heartfelt thanks.

First and foremost, the thanks go to our great leader, Mr Kelvin Sie, whose vision, hard work and dedication (with the constant nagging of course), has brought us to what we are today. Despite him being at times harsh and being blunt to the point, at times which brought tears to my eyes, I must still say “Mr Kelvin, thank you, for if you have not given me the opportunity to join you 10 years ago, I will not have ever, ever dream of standing before this crowd to give this thanksgiving speech. While you may be hard and tough, I am no saint either. I sincerely apologise if I do hurt your feeling’.

Ladies and gentlemen, colleagues and friends, lets stand and join me to give a round of applause to our great partner and friend, Mr Kelvin Sie.

Second, I wish to pay tribute to all my partners, Ms Sk Too, Mr TY Chia, Ms Eunice Chia, Mr Daniel Teoh and not forgetting Mr and Mrs Hoh, "All of you have been a great team. Despite our sometimes unknowing differences, and ups and down, like the "see saw", the vision of the leader, Mr Kelvin Sie, and the group must come first. Let me be the first to offer my apologies, sincerely from my heart, for any harsh words that I may have consciously or unconsciously said. I am sorry, lets forgive and forget, and lets work towards another 10 great years, okay".

Ladies and gentlemen and friends, a round of applause for my partners please.

Third, my sincere thanks to my fellow colleagues and staff. "If my harsh words hurt your feeling, I am sorry again; your dedications are what we are today. Let’s drink and be merry, (of course allow me to finish my speech first), my word of advice is, Play hard, but Work just as hard".

Lastly, to all my fellow friends, "You have been a great support. Your kind words and advice have help to make me a better person, and I shall work towards that direction".

If I go on any longer, half of you will have fallen asleep, so let me end my speech with a very big THANK YOU.
